I have thick hair and sometimes it doesn't look right in a ponytail what should i do?

I have thick hair and I always feel like it looks ridiculous in a pony tail because it's all tight near the rubber band and than is gets big. :) I like to twist my hair into a knot or bun instead (kinda like your avatar), or a french twist. Sometimes I pull back just the front layers with a barrette. You might also consider going a little shorter, with layers. You can ask your stylist to thin it out for you, but what I've found is that everytime I do that...it grows back thicker than before. Ugh.

I understand your frustration...believe me!!

Try wearing the pony tail low, or braid the pony tail, or gather your hair in the back and braid it. You can also, twist your hair in the back of your head and use a hair clip underneath, makes your hair look like a waterfall.

I dont like ponytails either, my hair is like yours.

well you can get your hair cut to shoulder legnth and then layer and angle it. i did that to my hair and if i put it in a pony it looks prettier then it did before.

Take a bit of gel - rub it between your palms, and use your hands to put your hair in a ponytail - starting from your head (you may not want to put it on the ends) Then use your elastic to tie it around to make a ponytail. Your hair should be in complete place and no flyaways around the crown of your head. You can use a little bit more of gel to tame any stray aways. Use a curling iron to curl the ends. A pony tail that looks clean with no strays always looks classy and is always in style :) Good luck! I included the Pantene Pro V gel link - that product works really good.

I have super thick hair too so I understand your dilemma. Try blowdrying your hair as straight as possible the night before. Then straighten it with a ceramic straightening iron before you put it in the pony tail and if it's fuzzy then try putting a smoothing lotion on it. I use BedHead After Party. You can buy it in hair salons. Just used a small amount, no more than dime size although I use smaller than that. It lasts a very long time.
