to the point where I can wear them down, and also be able to put them in a long ponytail (atleast about a 7-inch pony) Since my hair is thick, would the twists look too bulky? (Will there be alot of them)

if your hair is thick, it will take a LONG time to do, and there will be alot, but it will still be cute!!! Go for it. Twists are suppose to look bulky.

you could have random little kinks all around your hairline (below jaw looks best). make the kinks as thin as possible
and you will look fabUlous!
