How do u scrunch really thick hair??

I always straighten my hair but I want to schrunch it!! But everytime I do it looks horrible...any ideas?

o my gosh i know i have really thick hair to ... i love scrunching it its adorable. what i do is get it wet then put the max hold gel and hairspray. it seems to hold up good.. o and its the Aussie products

Ok you are talking to the queen of super thick curly hair here. Stlists are shocked and inwarly horrified. They alwasy try to use weird stuff on my hair, but the only thing that has great results on my hair (and my sisters. She has medium thick wavy hair) is #8 Suave Mousse. Put it in your hair while it is wet, scrunch it and set it free. If you have straight hair that will not hold a curl if you let it air dry, then just use a diffuser after you put the mousse in. The key with mousse is really getting it on ALL your hair and doing it while it is wet. The funny thing is that suave is about as cheap as you can get, and it is THE only product that works for me or my sisters. Also, if you want to go curly for a day and you hair doesn't respond well to scrunching, sponge curlers with mousse left in over night work the best for lasting hold.

i totally see what your saying with really thick hair it's kinda hard to scrunch. so here's what I do the night before:

i take a usuall shower, but i don't put conditioner, just shampoo. (this makes your scrunched hair last wayy longer).

I get out of the shower, towel dry it ,and spray some "Aussie Scrunch Spray" all over my DAMP hair.

I also put some mousse (any kind) and then i take 3 hairties.

I make one of the ponytails into a loose bun; and use the other two to make it a very tight bun.

i blow dry the bun for about 1 minute and i spray more scrunch spray.

I sleep in the tight bun and when i wake up, i take all the hairties out and; viola! scrunched hair! it's Amazing!

I hope this works for you; and even if you find a better soultution for scrunching your hair; give my tip a try!

Ps- the Aussie Scrunch spray runs about 3-4 dollars in most grocery stores. =)
